How A Ductless Heating and Cooling System Works

Do you have a particular room in your house that is very hard to warm during the cold season or cool down when the heat waves of summer come knocking? If your answer is yes, what you need is one of our ductless heating and air conditioning system installed in your house.

A ductless system works by joining an outdoor unit with one or several indoor units to provide heating or cooling to a particular space (s) in your home without the use of air ducts.

Parts of A Ductless System

Installing a ductless heat pump is not only quick and easy, but it also provides you with great flexibility as you can deliver cooling and heating in all zones in your house without any duct-work.

When we do a ductless heat pump installation, we place an outdoor unit outside your home – usually at ground level and connect it to an indoor unit using a refrigerant line and small cables through a tiny hole in one of the walls.

We typically mount the indoor unit high on the wall of the room you want to heat or cool, and we can even pre-set the system for you to run automatically or you can alternatively use a remote control to adjust the heating and cooling settings as required.

Types of Ductless Heating and Cooling Systems

We have two main types of ductless heating and air cooling systems – mini-split ductless systems and multi-split ductless systems.
The mini-split model connects one outdoor unit to one indoor unit, only controlling one space or zone within your home.
A multi-split model, on the other hand, joins a single outdoor unit to several indoor units that can go up to 5 units, depending on the model you choose. A multi-split is an excellent option as it allows you to control heating and cooling in as many areas in your home and the best part is that each zone operates independently from the other zones meaning you use the heating and cooling system on a need to basis.

Where to Use Ductless Heating and Cooling Systems

There is no denying the fact that the ductless heating and cooling systems are a major upgrade on the traditional heating and cooling systems that needed duct-work to function. Ductless heat pumps offer the best heating and cooling solution to older homes that have been installed a central heating and cooling system as it offers a more energy-efficient way of heating your home.

A ductless heating system can also come in handy if you convert your attic to a living space or if you add another room to your house. Instead of worrying about how to extend the existing duct-work to cover the additional rooms, we can come in and install a ductless heating and cooling system to your house and save you the hassle of bringing down a wall to fit in the required duct-work, not to mention that it will also save you money.
